There were only a handful of games on Sunday as the season draws to a close but three of them were massive games for the clubs involved. Probably the biggest was the final of the HUTSON Cup, played at Clay Cross Town FC between Gardeners Clay Cross and Brampton Rovers Reserves. Rovers were pipped at the post by Fidlers Rest to the NAPIT SIX title last week whilst fellow SIX side Gardeners also had a great season. When the two sides met in the league Rovers won the home game 5-3 but lost away 5-1 and in the final, the third meeting between the two sides, it was Rovers who triumphed, winning by three goals to nil. In the Chatsworth Cup the second semi-final was contested by Spartans and Oaks FC at the same venue to decide who would play Creswell Black Diamond Reserves and it was the latter who prevailed by four goals to two.

In the league the closest ONE title race for several season's will be decided on the final day as FC Britannia beat Hepthorne Lane 6-1 to move two points clear of defending champions Hasland Devonshire. Britannia were in fine form and no-one more so than Nathan Whitehead. He had already hit nineteen goals prior to the game but this time out he was sensational as he put five past hapless Lane to put his side within a whisker of winning the title. Britannia not only have a two point advantage over Devonshire but also a much superior goal difference which means a point for Britannia against Renishaw MW would see them home whilst Devonshire must beat Creswell Black Diamond and hope Britannia lose to finish top.

In TWO Wingerworth BMB need just a point from their last game to finish second as both they and AFC Bolsover won. Bolsover's 4-1 win over Grassmoor Sports means they are currently second but Wingerworth's 2-1 victory against Matlock Town Wanderers leaves them needing a point from their final game against to finish behind champions Woodthorpe Inn. However they will have to play exceptionally well as is an intriguing twist to the end of the season it is Woodthorpe who they play! in the division's other game it was Dronfield Victoria who claimed bragging rights in Dronfield as they beat Dronfiield Woodhouse by three games to one.

Just one game in THREE and it was contested by Hollingwood Athletic and Ark Tavern and it was Tavern who won by five goals to one.

Oxcroft Utd's 4-3 win at DuckmantCommunity confirmed them as runners up in FOUR.
