Mid table NAPIT TWO side Tibshelf Town caused a major upset in the Dey and Co Alma Cup on Sunday as they dumped NAPIT ONE leaders Killamarsh Juniors Athletic out of the competition. Town’s league form has been somewhat in-different so far but the form book counted for little as goals from Armstrong, Cousins, J Harris and Waldram cancelled out strikes from Holmes and Wheeldon propelled Town into the next round. The other two second tier sides in action did not fare so well against NAPIT ONE sides Creswell and Clowne Wanderers. FC Brimington faced Creswell and forced the game into extra times with the teams deadlocked at 3-3 after ninety minutes. Extra time failed to produce a winner as Creswell won the resulting penalty shoot-out 5-4. Wanderers took on Brampton Rovers JMA and goals from Ben Carless, Adam Rowley and Carl Longmore won them the game 3-2.

In the Chatsworth Cup NAPIT THREE leaders AFC Bolsover took an early lead through a Rushby penalty early on at fellow third division side Dronfield Woodhouse but that was as good as it got as Scott Austin hit a superb hat trick to lead an impressive Woodhouse side to an excellent 7-1 victory, Liam Mottram scoring a couple also. Second placed West Killamarsh progressed at the expense of Harleys Scarlets with goals from Liam Edge, Nick Hanwell, Alec Unwin and Sam Woodhead earning them a 4-2 victory. Brickmakers travelled to the Dimple ground to take on Matlock Town Wanderers and after one hundred and twenty minutes failed to produce a winner, the sides being level at 2-2 after normal time and 3-3 after extra time, the former eventually won 5-4 on penalties, Hawksworth, Walker and Stokes scoring for Wanderers, Thorpe Herrett and Parker for Brickmakers. Bottom club Steelmelters Arms Killamarsh put last week’s sixteen goal disaster behind them, bouncing back to beat Newbold Sports 3-1, Ross Taylor firing in a treble. Three NAPIT THREE sides will not be appearing in the next round however as they all lost to lower league opposition. Hopflower Athletic’s exit came at the hands of NAPIT FIVE outfit Brampton Brewery who beat them 3-2, Roberts scoring twice, Allsopp once. Beechers Brook also lost to a side from FIVE Clowne Wanderers Reserves who won 5-2, Robson scoring four of the five goals himself. Lowgates Sports Club of FOUR beat the other THIRD DIVISION side to exit the competition Creswell Black Diamond by an emphatic 5-1 margin, Hughes two, Slater, Linney and White the match winners. Spare a thought for Spartans Adam Wallhead who scored a hat trick for his side against Newton George and Dragon and still ended up on the losing side, Newton winning 5-4.

This seasons Hutson is being contested by sides from NAPIT SIX and SEVEN and the highest placed club in action Barlow Kingston Rovers beat Boythorpe 2-0, George and an own goal winning it for Rovers. In a Dronfield derby Wanderers beat Town by a 5-1 margin, McCarry with two goals and Collins, Jenkinson and substitute Stevens winning the game for Wanderers. Also progressing to the next round are Grassmoor Sports Reserves who beat Brampton Rovers Reserves 4-1, Nathan Walters hitting a hat trick andBritannia Tupton who won 2-1 at Brimington Club, Atkinson and Sambrook the scorers.

Back in the league and in NAPIT ONE AFC Whitecotes stay third after an impressive 5-2 win over Eckington Boys in which Lytham had a field day scoring four times, Bronson adding the fifth. Fourth placed Britannia took on Brampton rivals, bottom side Brampton Rovers and despite a spirited Rovers performance Britannia won 2-0, Bartram scoring both goals. Renishaw MW moved up to fifth by beating Hepthorne Lane 5-1 with Grainger, Hatcroft, Kershaw, Alberry and Talbot hitting the back of Lane’s net.

Just one game in NAPIT TWO and in it Wingerworth Barley Mow put a dent in Grassmoor Sports promotion hopes by beating them 3-2 in a closely contested affair, Gilson, Jack and Miller with the vital WBM goals.

AFC North Wingfield are up to third place in FOUR after goals from Nathan Wazelenko and Andy Woolvern, his fifteenth of the season, saw them beat Newbold 2-0. Also in this division Dronfield Miners extended their lead at the top to four points after two Olli Wood goals earned them a 2-1 victory over New Whitt B. Like Andy Woolvern Wood has also been in outstanding goal scoring form, his two goals moving him onto seventeen for the season.

Only one game took place in FIVE and it was a cracker as Spital finally recorded a long overdue win. Old Whittington MW provided the opposition and scored through Wilson, Clarke and Smith, however Spital’s Christmas came early as two goals from Walton and one each from Camm and Butler saw them home.

Previous leaders Crown Killamarsh did not have a league game and Hady Villa took full advantage by beating Fidlers Rest 3-0 at Hillstown to move above them into top spot in NAPIT SIX, Coupe, McMahon and Smedley on target for Villa. Furnace Hill Hurricanes stay third despite being held to a 1-1 draw by Markham Arms, Jones scoring for Furnace Hill, Taylor for the Arms. Holmehall 2nd also won, Ryan Harris and Martin Wake’s goals handing them the win.

In SEVEN Oxcroft Utd consolidated their position in third place by beating Glapwell Gladiators 5-2, Grayson and Roe both scoring twice, Kimberley once. Finally Clay Cross Miners and Diners hit the goal trail at Boot and Shoe, Rickie Fullwood starring with three goals in a 7-3 victory, Keaton Holland, Kieran Palfreyman, Michael Saville and Gary Lowe adding the others.
