The NAPIT LEAGUE returned to something like normal for the first time in 2016 with the majority of scheduled games going ahead. However there was something abnormal about the outcome of several fixtures with no fewer than three sides recording double figure scores. Heading the list of big scorers were NAPIT SEVEN side Darley Dale Red Star who trounced Britannia Tupton by an amazing fifteen (15) goals to nil. Darley's brightest star was Toby McClean, who had scored five goals in seven starts prior to the game, as he doubled his goal tally plus one, hitting six of the winning goals. Not far behind was Stuart Baker who made a dream debut by grabbing himself four goals. Up in FIVE Dave Canning recently returned to Glapwell Gladiators from Doe Lea to take over as player/manager and on Sunday he led his side to an eleven goals to three victory over Dronfield Wanderers. His contribution was three goals but he was over shadowed by team mate Ben Rainsford-Lowe who scored four. New club FC Utd of Bolsover were highly fancied to win NAPIT TWO prior to the start of the season and that looks more like coming to fruition as an excellent 10-2 victory at Crispin Casuals moved them nine points clear of New Whitt, although they have played three games more. Ash Cheatham and Josh Sculley both hit trebles in the win, Gary Hulland scoring a brace. THREE leaders Renishaw MW didn't quite manage double figures but only came up one short as they thrashed Brimington Utd 9-1 with Danny Talbot having a real day to remember as he scored five of his side's goals.

Elsewhere and in stark contrast to the above games previously mentioned TWO's New Whitt needed just a single goal to take three points off Brampton Rovers JMA whilst Joe Shirley and Sam Woodhead were on target for West End Killamarsh who just edged out Dronfield Woodhouse with an odd goal win in three.

in THREE strugglers AFC North Wingfield took on Hollingwood Athletic and a thrilling game ended with both sides having to settle for a point as it finished at four goals each. Also struggling this season are Ark Tavern who remain bottom of the division after going down to Pilsley Community 4-2, Tom Newton scoring two Pilsey goals. Newbold missed an opportunity to move nearer to the top of the division as they were beaten 5-3 by Hady Villa, Kerion Loftus, Steve McMahan, Phil Owens and Kyle Martin with two the scorers.

In FOUR leaders Crown Killamarsh were without a game which presented second placed Brampton Oak Sports an excellent opportunity to go above them. However the chance was lost as they were beaten 3-1 by Butchers Arms. Danny Stokes scored three and Danny Palmer two as AFC Castle won 6-2 at Old Whittington MW, Spartans beat New All Inn 2-1 and Brimington Utd Shoes beat Club FC 6-2, Buchannon scoring twice.

FIVE leaders Renishaw Rangers recorded their ninth victory in as many starts as they won 5-0 at Royal Oak Rangers, Liam Edge scoring twice in a victory that moved Rangers eight points Clear at the top of the division. Two Andy Woolvern goals in Grassmoor Sports 2-1win over Gate Inn North Wingfield kept his side second in the table whilst Bolsover Town also won 3-1 at Barlow Kingston Rovers to remain third.

In SIX Evolution won 3-1 at Furnace Hill Hurricanes to stay level on points with leaders Hasland Community, Harry Oakley scoring twice. Community also won another thriller of a game by five goals to four, Palterton Sporting Club narrowly going down to a defeat. Adam Plant scored a hat trick in the win. Whitecotes Wanderers and Astwith Allstars encounter was an exciting one which produced ten goals, six for the former and four for the latter, Craig Megyesi hitting a hat trick for Whitecotes.

SEVEN leaders Brimington Club were made to work hard by opponents Markham Arms before they eventually won 5-4, Daniel Dodds scoring twice for Markham Arms as did Reece Nuttall for Brimington. Cameron Wood-Glasbie scored twice as third placed Anchor Clowne beat New Bolsover Social Club 3-0. Dronfield Town and Ye Olde Nags Head shared eleven goals but not the points as the former, amazingly won 6-5 and finally Antony Brown scored the only goal of the game as Newbold CFT beat Renishaw Rangers TFC.
