The league suffered a big blow on Sunday with both scheduled cup semi finals, in the Alma featuring Hasland Devonshire and Tibshelf Town and in the Hutson between Astwith All Stars and Spartans 2nd being postponed due to a waterlogged pitch at Clay Cross Town, both games to be re-arranged.

In the league itself Hepthorne Lane’s NAPIT ONE title ambitions suffered a blow as they were beaten 2-0, Ross Whitehead and Ricky Machin’s goals sealing victory for Creswell Black Diamond. In the division’s other game defences definitely came out on top as Doe Lea and FC Britannia played out a goal-less draw.

No such problems for FC Utd of Bolsover in TWO as they thrashed Crispin Casuals by eight goals to one, claiming the NAPIT TWO title in the process. This performance, in a season full of excellent ones, was as good as any and Utd thoroughly deserve their success as they have been the best side in the division by far. Josh Parfitt’s goals have proved to be hugely influential for Utd and he hit his twenty-seventh of the season in this game however it was Ashley Cheetham who took the plaudits this time around, hitting a fine hat trick. Josh Scully scored twice, Jack Weaver and Ricky Strong once as the celebrations began. Dronfield Woodhouse have endured a difficult season both on and off the field but on Sunday they played really well and recorded a deserved victory over Brampton Rovers JMA. Dan Sharpe scored twice, as did Liam Mottram as they won the game 4-3. Dronfield Victoria consolidated their position in fourth place thanks largely to Charles Bradwell’s hat trick which helped secure a 4-1 victory over West End Killamarsh.

THREE leaders Renishaw MW were just six minutes from claiming a vital three points against New Inn Tupton, leading as they were by a goal to nil, when disaster struck as their goalkeeper Michael Aldread suffered a suspected broken leg in a fifty- fifty challenge with an opponent, causing the game to be abandoned by the referee. Second placed Oaks FC entertained third placed Newbold and at the end of ninety minutes they switched places as two goals from Dan Keenan earned Newbold a 2-1 win. Hady Villa are up to fourth on the back of a 2-1 win over AFC North Wingfield in which Dave Inns And Kyle Martin were on target. Brimington United won for the second time in succession beating local rivals Butchers Arms Utd. Brimington opened the scoring in the first five minutes through Mark Mowbray before Butchers levelled. However Brimington went ahead again through Mowbray and an excellent lobbed goal from Andrew Mosley saw them lead at the interval 3-1. In the second period Utd launched a terrific comeback drawing level at 3-3 with just five minutes remaining but in the dying seconds Jordan Renishaw hit the winner for Brimington to help ease their relegation fears.

In FOUR AFC Castle recorded an excellent victory as they beat promotion chasing Butchers Arms by four goals to two. Inspired by man of the match Luke Carline who scored twice.. New All Inn were also victorious, narrowly beating Club FC by the odd goal in seven.

Renishaw Rangers took a huge step towards lifting the FIVE title as they beat closest rivals Grassmoor Sports by three goals to two to earn their fifteenth win out of seventeen league starts. The winning goals on this occasion were scored by Antony Devine, Karl Knowles and Ryan Kasprzycki . The Royal Oak Rangers Gate Inn North Wingfield game was a close fought affair but goals from Dean Haywood, Luke Jackson and Billy Radford swung the game Rangers favour. Britannia Rose however completed a much easier victory over Harleys Scarlets, whom they thumped by seven goals to nil, Aiden Ordidge scoring four of the winning goals.

The ding dong battle to see who becomes champions of SIX continued as Whitecotes Wanderers beat Castle Arms 2-1 to move above Evolution to top the table. Both sides have shared the leadership of the division in recent weeks and this victory in which Stray and Scott were on target saw Wanderers replace Evolution at the top. The other Wanderers in the division Woodthorpe eased past Palterton Sporting Club by four goals to two.

In SEVEN Newbold Community Football Training are in third place after they beat New Bolsover Social Club 3-2 in a closely contested affair, Antony Bennett, twice and Josh Bennett hitting the winning goals. There was also very little to choose between Britannia Tupton and Markham Arms with the former just shading the game 4-3.
