Heavy snowfall the previous weekend plus a rapid thaw and then heavy rain decimated the first set of fixtures of 2015 with just a handful of league and cup games going ahead. The two Derbyshire Senior Sunday Cup games that did take place saw both Tibshelf Town and fellow ONE side Renishaw Miners Welfare get eliminated from the competition as Town were beaten by four goals to two at Springfield FC as Renishaw were beaten by four goals to nil by Sinfin City.

In the league just six fixtures went ahead and in TWO Eckington Westend made the short trip to Carr Lane Dronfield to take on Dronfield Victoria. A Victoria victory would have seen them go third behind AFC Bolsover and Woodthorpe Inn whilst a win for Westend would move them from seventh to third place themselves. Goals from Ashley Unwin, Graham Parsons and Nick Hanwell saw West End do just that as they cancelled out a Charles Bradwell goal to hand their side a 3-1 victory and a fifth straight win in league and cup in the process.

In THREE Clowne Wanderers Reserves game against Brampton Oak Sports went ahead at Clune Street and a victory for Wanderers saw them make up valuable ground on leaders Creswell Black Diamond by registering a 2-0 success. Wanderers goals came from Aaron Taylor and James Summers and as a result Wanderers are now four points behind Diamond with two games in hand.

In NAPIT FIVE Brimington Utd took on Barlow Kingston Rovers. The last time these teams met the game ended in a narrow 3-2 win for Utd. However this time around although the outcome was the same the victory was much more decisive. Utd made their intentions clear from the start and they had the ball in the net in the first five minutes but the goal was disallowed. However undeterred they then raced to a two goal lead through Chris Marshall who scored twice in quick succession taking his tally to twelve for the season. Captain Jordan Renshaw then scored with a thunderous header from Alex Howard’s corner to make the score 3-0 at half time. The second half was a somewhat muted affair, Barlow's cause not helped by having a man sent off . As a result Utd took charge and substitute Alan Newell came on for the last 10 minutes and scored with only his third touch of the game to make the final score 4-0 and move Utd to the top of FIVE with a game in hand. Also in FIVE Royal Oak Rangers took on Old Whittington MW and were beaten by them by five goals to three, a win that moved Whittington up to fourth place. Ben Moss and Danny Rigby have been the men Whittington have turned to to provide the fire power for the club this season and Rigby scored a treble in this game, Moss one as they moved on to ten and twelve goals respectively the fifth goal being bagged by Ashley Eyre.

Gardeners Clay Cross and Hasland Wanderers met in SIX in a game that saw another player hit a hat trick. Michael Saville was the player in question, taking his season's tally to eleven, his goals along with efforts from Mick Lunn and Steven Rodgers earning their Gardeners side a 5-2 win which moves them up to fourth, four points behind leaders Brampton Rovers Reserves.

In the final game of the day the at Bolsover Spartans 2nds entertained Dronfield Town in NAPIT SEVEN and it was the latter who claimed the points, winning the game by four goals to two. The victory courtesy of two Tom Williams goals plus one each from Richard Bradwell and Carl Ellsworth moved Town level on points with Spartans in the middle of the table, both sides now having accrued thirteen points so far.
