League Cup Final

In a closely fought game that went all the way to extra time, It was Grimethorpe Athletic who picked up the Cyril Milner Challenge Cup thanks to a 1-0 win due to a Lee Rouse header early in the first half of extra time. The game was a credit to the league and Athersley were unlucky not to be a goal up just before half time of normal time, The second half could not separate the two teams and to be fair Athersley were the team who looked more likely to get the winner but it was Rouses header that won the game. Athersleys Player Manager Sean Margison was named the man of the match sponsored by the Sheffield Trophy Centre.
