District League Report December 14th.

Grange Moor Saints extended their lead at the top of Division 1 to nine points with a hard fought 2-1 win at Wooldale Wanderers with goals from Kieron & Nathan Mayall. Jack Firth scored a late consolation for Wooldale.

Holmbridge stay in second place in the Premier Division following their 4-2 win over Britannia Sports. Scorers for Holmbridge were Rob Parr (two), Alex Battye and Adam Green with Matthew Henighan (two) scoring for Britannia.

St. Columba’s had a fine 3-2 win away at Berry Brow A to extend their lead at the top of Division 2 to five points. Vinny O’Shea, Benjamin Murray and Jacob Richardson scoring for the Saints with Elliott Wilkinson and George Gylmah scoring for the Brow. Holmbridge Reserves moved up to third place with a 3-1 win over neighbours Hade Edge with goals from Alex Kemp (two) and Daniel Goodwin. Jake Clayton scoring for Hade Edge. Reece Julien scored twice for Heywood Irish Centre in their 4-1 win over Britannia Sports Reserves with Carlton Balmer and Joe Taylor completing the scoring for Heywoods. Will Winnard scored the consolation for Britannia.

In Division 4 Grange Moor Saints Reserves beat Holme Valley Academicals Reserves 9-0 to move up to fourth place with Ibrahim Haddouche and Ismael Maria Imbuqui both scoring twice.

Savile United extended their lead to twelve points in Division 5 following their 7-2 win over Fenton United. Savile United’s goals were scored by Muhammed Faruki, Mohammad Zaman, Isan Safeer (two) and a hattrick from Mohammed Kadia.

In the Barlow Cup Bradley Lennon scored for Deighton Reserves in their 1-2 defeat to Netherton whose goals were scored by Michael Carter and Jack O’Connor. Kirkburton lost 3-5 to Berry Brow Reserves with Thomas Whitfield (two) and Joel Doherty scoring. Berry Brow’s goals were scored by Jamal Hussain, Dean Siddiq and a hattrick from Rhys Wharam. Nathan Goddard and Gavin Armitage both scored twice for Kirkheaton Rovers in their 4-2 win over Newsome Reserves. Jordan McCafferty-Smith and Wayde Moses scored for Newsome. Linthwaite Athletic Reserves beat Cumberworth 2-0 both goals were scored by Tevin Watson.

In the Groom Cup Kirkheaton Rovers Reserves beat AFC Lindley 4-3 on penalties after a 1-1 draw. Josh Wrigley scoring for Lindley and Michael Calvert scoring for Yetton. Slaithwaite United were knocked out losing 3-5 to Huddersfield Laund Hill whose goals were scored by George Noble (two), Lee Wood, Joe Saxton and Joe Wadsworth. Slowit’s goals were scored by Samuel Moore, James Edwards and Ryan Patterson with his 30th of the season. Jayden Watson scored for Meltham Athletic Reserves in their 1-2 loss to Brighouse Athletic. Benjamin Whiteley and Kieran Sullivan scoring for Brighouse. Skelmanthorpe Reserves beat Mount 3-0 with goals from James Chiodo (two) and James Slater.

In the Richardson Cup Emick Katika scored four as Deighton A overwhelmed Britannia Sports A 12-1 with Leevan Brown hitting a hattrick. Daniel Crane scored for Britannia. Carl O’Brien hit four as Cartworth Morr beat St. Columba’s Reserves 10-0. Almondbury Woolpack Reserves were held to a 3-3 draw by Slaithwaite United Reserves with Slowit going through winning 3-2 on penalties. Kudakwashe Chiromba (two) and Stephen Brook scored for Woolpack with Hayden Ainley-Wood (two) and Damon Carter scoring for Slowit. Mohammed Ravat, Husain Rawat and Abubakr Hajat scored for Mount Pleasant in their 3-3 draw with Brook Motors with Brooks going through winning 4-3 on penalties. John Lodge, Craig Eastwood and Jacob Tatlock scored for Brooks.

Honley travelled to play West Yorkshire Football League Premier Division side Headingly in the West Riding County Challenge Cup and lost 4-1 with Phil Rigby scoring for Honley.
