Week 3 Round Up
The Chris Sear Memorial Cup and Shield Competitions began last weekend, and it was a great start for Windmill in Group A as goals from Jordan Mogridge, Rob Salisbury, Johnny Symaka and Joshua Wood helped them to a 4-0 win over Hussar. The other two matches ended in draws, Lanthorne drew 2-2 with Frames United, Haydn Gray and Jake Munday scoring for Lanthorne with Sam Clarke and Scott Todd netting for Frames. Lesters Athletic and 19th Hole drew 1-1, Thomas Darrington scoring for Lesters and Max Glet getting the 19th Hole goal. In Group B, Monkton put their disappointing start to the season behind them as they defeated Counting House 3-2, Matt Hardy scoring twice for Monkton and Chris Lewis grabbing both goals for Counting House. Kings United defeated TWS Cramptons thanks to goals from Mac Durling, Lee Palmer and Zack Thomas, Oliver Sexton with the Cramptons goal. A great result for Macies as they beat Red Arrows 3-2, Cain Smith with a brace and one for Connor Parish doing the damage.
Into the Chris Sear Memorial Shield, and it’s Garden Bar who lead Group A after a 4-1 win over Thanet Athletic. Will Billings, Phil Doughty, James Willoughby-Browne and Tim Alliston all getting one each. The Vale sit second in the group after a double from David Crane and one from Charlie Lockwood saw them come from behind to beat Franklins 3-1. Gareth Davies and Ryan Kennedy grabbed a goal apiece as Westgate Social Club narrowly beat Prince Albert 2-1, Lewis Higgins with the Prince Albert goal. Easy Scaff lead the way in Group B following a 5-1 win against Aussie Arms, a hat trick for Cameron Haswell and one each for Will O’Keefe and Harry Chart. There were ten goals in the match between Northwood and Westwood as the home side ran out 6-4 winners, Bobby Huxtable and Harry Paxman getting two each with Max Kirkbride and Michael Moore getting the other goals, Westwood’s goals came from Will Bath, Oliver Evans, Lewis Cuthbert & Ryan Day.
