In this top of the table clash, leaders Harlequins defeated second placed University of Northampton 2-1 to go five points clear of their opponents at the summit. Nathan Smith?s effort for the Quins was cancelled out by a Conrad Turner?s strike for the students but a Andy Condon spot kick won the match for Harlequins. Double Four moved up the table to be level on points with the scholars after beating Thorplands United 6-3. Alex Duggan netted twice and Stephen Carroll once for Thorplands however a Wayne Baptist brace and one a-piece from Charles White, Richard Slater, Darren Andrew and Ashley Pancoust saw Double Four home. Resource United coasted to a 7-2 triumph over Denton. The Resource goals were shared between Marcell Tut 2, Iosif Doli 2, Sorin Turcas, Matei Milian and Cristian Olaru leaving brothers Ben and Dan Cook to hit Dentons retort.
DIVISION ONE
Airflow Reserves discovered their scoring boots as they hammered hapless Delapre Old Boy?s 9-2. The prolific Jamie Ellis netted an impressive four timer to go with singles from Elliott Ryan, Mark Robinson, Alex Giles and Lewis Robinson. Delapre replied through Luke Dickens and Scott Ramsey. A Matt Aitkinson hat trick put Far Cotton Loco on the road to a comfortable 6-1 victory over University of Northampton Reserves. Further efforts from Barry Swallow, Andy Eaton and James White completed Loco?s tally. The University?s consolation came from Ian Powell. Hitec Roofline and Obelisk United fought out an entertaining 3-3 draw with Barry Streeton 2 and Tyron Williams on target for the Roofers and Tony Linnell, Russ Aitkins and Sam Wright netting for Obelisk. In a close encounter Swan & Helmet just edged out Thorplands United Reserves by the odd goal in five. Louis Mansfield and Steve Brown did the business for Thorplands while a Nick Renda two-some plus an own goal accounted for the victor?s strikes. Neil Jarrett was Cotton Hill?s hero as they inflicted a 7-2 defeat on Harlequins Reserves. He hit the back of the net on no less than four occasions to go with solo efforts from Chris Cowdell, Andy Hopkinson and Ricky Knight. The Quins second string hit back with goals from Jack Horrigan and Heath Johnson.
