Highfield Rangers throw the Premier title wide open.
Highfield Rangers threw the Premier title wide open when they ended their run, that gained them 1 point from the last 21, to move out of the bottom 2 with an 0-1 away win at current leaders Stapenhill. The Rangers defeated the Swans 1-2 in the Beacon Bitter cup, back in October and earned their first 3 points in 8 starts with a 2nd half goal from Danny Taylor.
Thurnby Rangers, with 3 games in hand, cut the Swans lead back to 11 points with a 6-2 defeat of bottom placed Rothley Imps, after Jake Duffy netted and hat trick and Michael Reeves netted a double against the club that brought him through into the senior league.
Not to be outdone, Ibstock Utd maintained an outside interest if either of the leaders should slip up, with their 4th win on the spin, a 0-3 away win at Blaby and Whetstone Athletic.
Barrow Town slipped back off the pace when they dropped their 1st points in 6 starts after a 1-1 draw at St Andrews and Kirby Muxloe kept pace with Barrow when they rescued a point in a 1-1 draw at Anstey Nomads with a 2nd half equaliser.
Bardon Hill maintained their top 6 position, despite their 2nd successive defeat, 1-2 at home to Holwell Sports and Thurmaston Town ended the Downes Sports mini revival 3-0, all the goals scored in the 1st half.
Ellistown consolidated a mid table position with their 2nd successive victory, 0-3 at Ratby Sports, which dumps the Sports into the bottom 2 and Aylestone Park picked up an invaluable 3 points, which keeps them 3 points above the bottom 2, with a 3-0 defeat of Birstall Utd.
