Jack trumps Town!

UNDER 11 LEAGUE CUP FINAL: Jack Allan's first-half brace helped Ferndale Rodbourne Under 11s to a crushing defeat of Wootton Bassett Town, writes Stuart Smedley.

It was one-way traffic as Ferndale took apart Bassett with relative ease.

Allan and Tom Alder went close before, the deadlock was broken by Allan seconds later.

Ryan Baxter played him in behind the defence and Allan made no mistake.

Two chances in quick succession followed. Firstly a low Mani Roper cross was knocked wide by Hooton.

A poor goal kick was intercepted by Baxter but his attempted lob from the edge of the area sailed over.

Three minutes before the break Allan gave his side a little more breathing room though, emphatically heading home a Roper cross.

Despite improved defending from Bassett, two more Ferndale goals finished the rout.

Firstly, Baxter poked an Alder through-ball past an oncoming keeper Ellis Embling.

Then, four minutes later, Embling spilled Johns' corner and Roper tapped home from 10 yards.
