Division One
D.C.U.K. keeps up their challenge for the title by beating Bounty United 3-2 at Old Basing, the winner from Finlay Hall coming ten minutes from time. It was Bounty in front after fifteen minutes when Alex Izzo put away a pass from Simon Farrell. They remained in front until the 55th minute when Ben Nicholls equalized and although they had a lot of the ball, it was Izzo who struck again to regain the lead, it came following a flick on from Andy Neal.. The lead did not last long for five minutes later Stuart Austen scored from a Nicholls corer kick. DC pressed and in the 80th minute Jamie Ballantyne put Nicholls through, his shot was well saved by keeper Richie Vinn, but Hall followed up to net the rebound.
Tadley Calleva A won 3-0 at home to Basingstoke Athletic with all three goals scored by Kye Theodore. It was Athletic almost scoring in the 3rd minute when Matt Stillwell headed against the crossbar. The first for Theodore came in the 11th minute, a scrappy deflected shot, but in the 18th the keeper again had no chance when he put away a free kick from 20 yards out. Athletic were always in the game and in the 41st minute Stillwell had a great chance but shot wide. Into the second half and Peter White hit the bar for Tadley, Theodore failed in a one on one with the keeper and White missed another good opportunity. Darren Harper, in the Tadley goal, played his part in making a fine save in a one on one, but it was Theodore who came up with the third in the 90th minute. A cross from Dan Walkley was flicked on by Stephen Burgess and his volley was the best of the three and so taking his tally for the season to 21.
This AFC Aldermaston team was far from full strength and suffered by crashing 7-0 against Twentyten.and it was only good goalkeeping by Kevin Butcher that stopped an even bigger defeat. Joe Hill scored three, two for Jack Clarke and singles for Christian Cox and Charlie Manning. To pick out the best of the seven, it was full back Manning’s first goal for the club at 4-0, cutting in from the left and a great finish. Joe Hill at 5-0, a good turn 20 yards out and shot in off the post.but the best from Jack Clarke after excellent build up. Manager Alan Spacagna was pleased his defenders Matt Tamage, Charlie Hill and Alex Blackall helped in keeping a clean sheet
Division Two
Herriard Sports go into the New Year with a four points lead over second placed Overton United B after beating Twentyten Reserves 11-0. When these two teams met in the Basingstoke B Cup in November Graham Jenkins team came home beaten just 2-0. On that occasion his players managed to restrict Chris Dobbie and Sam Cato to just one apiece. Things were different this time, because after just two minutes Sam Weber had given Herrurad the lead. This was not the start Jenkins wanted from his team and it was quickly followed by goals from Simon Jane, Cato twice and Karl Buttle for a five goal interval lead.. Cato completed his hat trick and the Chris Dobbie ran riot scoring four and a fine diving header from Adam Francis from a Dobbie cross completed the rout.
Origin moves out of the bottom two after beating basement club Chineham 3-1. In November Chineham had their one success when they beat Dave Hawkins team 2-0.
Things looked good for Chineham again when they were awarded a penalty, duly converted by Ashley Russell, but a poor back pass from Matt Spargo led to an own goal to level the scores by half time. Three minutes into the second half a looping header by Stefan Graham put Origin in front and the points were sealed in the 70th when Karl Holbrough took advantage of a mix up in he Chineham defence to net the third.
