It is with great sadness that I have to tell you that David Goldsmith, Chairman of EEYFL, passed away yesterday.

Most of you are well aware of the tremendous contribution he made to our league, from its foundation in the mid 1970’s to the present day. Without his leadership, and the unstinting support of his wife Carole, the EEYFL, from which so many children and their parents have derived pleasure, would have nothing like the presence it does today, and indeed may not even have existed at all. On a personal note, he has been a great friend and source of wise counsel to me over the years, and I know I am not alone in that.
It is a very sad day for our league, and all those that knew David. I am sure you will join me in sending our sincere condolences to Carole and the rest of his family.
