G T Sports 5 v 0 Odd Down SC Reserves
GT Sports made the three division gap evident by claiming the 2016 Stan Milsom Cup with a 5-0 success over Odd Down Social Club Reserves.
Following an even opening, GT took the lead in fortuitous fashion on 33 minutes when Ben Wych’s speculative effort from 20 yards squirmed through the hands of keeper Matty Marks and crept into the net.
Wych doubled his tally shortly after half-time when a ricochet fell kindly to him and the forward easily stroked the ball in from close range.
Jake Turpin made it three on 55 with a tidy finish at the climax of a lovely move from the Division One champions.
Full-back Ashley Scott got in on the act with 14 minutes remaining, turning smartly from Wych’s lay off and slotting the ball under Marks.
Wych managed to complete his hat-trick on 86 minutes. His initial lob was handled on the line by Liam Wynne, which saw the defender receive his marching orders from referee Jon Davies. The number nine took the spot-kick himself, coolly converting to round off the scoring.
There was still time for a second penalty when Lewis Isaac was brought down by Marks, but he made amends by easily saving Ashley Isaac’s penalty.
Odd Down fought bravely and created a couple of openings in the second half but couldn’t find a breakthrough as GT cruised to success.
