FA YOUTH CUP – Preliminary Round
St Andrews travelled to take on Gresley and put themselves into the next round after a convincing 3-0 victory with Pele Molyneaux (2) and Billy Howard scoring. Leicester Nirvana also booked a place in the next round after a recording a narrow 3-2 victory over League rivals Lutterworth Athletic with Rahul Parmar (2) and Jonathon De Lacorda scoring with Aston King and Cameron Weston replying for the Athos. Ashby Ivanhoe made the long trip to take on Stamford AFC and also booked their place in the next round with a 2-1 victory with Jack Robinson and Finley Kemp scoring.
Other Leicestershire sides in the Competition were Leicester Road who had a 3-0 victory over Mickleover Sports and Aylestone Park Leicester Elite who were defeated 3-2 by Alfreton Town.
The ties for the First Round Qualifying Round are
Ashby Ivanhoe v Alfreton Town
Boston United v Leicester Nirvana
Kimberley Miners Welfare v Leicester Road
Loughborough Dynamo v New Mills
St Andrews v Bottesford Town
These ties are to be played week commencing Monday 19th September
NORTHERN DIVISION
Desfords’ fine form continued as they recorded a 3-2 away win at Allexton & New Parks. Madison Murrell put Desford ahead only for Allexton to square things up through Jack Allen who then put Allexton 2-1up via a penalty and Desfords’ Joe Wright made it all square again. With minutes remaining, Desford were awarded a free kick deep inside their own half and up stepped the ‘keeper, Aeron Portch, who launched the kick goal wards. The kick beat all the Allexton defenders and the ‘keeper and with one bounce nestled in the back of the net. Mansfield Town had Joel Cooke to thanks as they had a narrow 1-0 victory over Coalville Town
SOUTHERN DIVISION
Cosmos Mathwasa, Shivang Odedra, Ben Tansley and Royce Wimperis were all on target as GNG Elite Development had a 4-0 victory over Aylestone Park. Oadby Owls put their first points on the board as they defeated Lutterworth Athletic Academy 4-1 with Jordan Clarke bagging himself all 4. Fenton Booth with the Athos Academys’ reply.
