Red Arrows & The Vale both hit six on opening day.
Counting House were held to a 1-1 draw by newly promoted Windmill as they began their defence of their Premier Division title, it was Windmill who took the lead through Joshua Wood only to be pegged back by Ross Aylett’s strike. Goals from George Cook, Tom Coyne and Jack Penny saw TWS Cramptons defeat 19th Hole 3-1, Max Glet with the consolation goal. Lanthorne beat Frames United 2-1 thanks to goals from Lewis Doyle and Alex Epps, Habeeb KB Ilesanmi with the goal for Frames.
A hat trick from Lukasz Olubek helped Red Arrows to a thumping 6-0 opening day win over Monkton in the First Division, Jack Eteen, Brad Kelly and Haden Plank were the other scorers. A brace from Woody Pitman and one apiece from Reece Greig and Danny McGovern saw Hussar beat Westwood 4-1, Will Bath netting for Westwood. Lesters Athletic defeated fellow promoted side FC Inter Westgate 2-1 with goals coming from Thomas Darrington and Joe Hill, Tom Winch was the scorer for Westgate. Another side winning 2-1 was Macies as they beat Westgate Social Club, goals coming from Daryl Leith and Adam Crombie with Harry Green replying for Westgate Social Club. Easy Scaff got off to a winning start as they beat fellow new boys Northwood 5-3, William O’Keefe, Jamie Ridgeway, Vince Menga, Tom Goultette & Camron Haswell all getting one goal each whilst Jack Hearn scored twice for Northwood.
The Vale certainly enjoyed the opening day of the season as they romped to a 6-0 win over Aussie Arms in the Second Division, David Crane getting four of his side’s goals. Reece Walker scored twice as Sandwich Town beat Holman Carpentry 3-2 and another player scored two on the opening day was Gareth Rushton as Shrimpos beat Garden Bar 3-1. The points were shared in the match between Franklins and Prince Albert as they played out a 2-2 draw, Frantisek Balog and Michael Pile scored for Franklins with Lewis Huggins and Daniel Smith scoring for the visitors.
