Tadley struck top form away tp Twentyten who had beaten them twice this season and the 5-1 win came after they trailed 1-0 after just eight minutes when Joe Hill scored direct from a free kick and he should really of made it 2-0 when he missed an open goal. Carl Pearson also had a good chance for them but misses at he far post. Tadley struck back in the 28th minute when a pass from Luke Alliston found Liam Belcher and Peter White headed in is centre. Two minutes later they took the lead when a cross from Dan Walkley was half cleared to Michael Abbott beat keeper Harry Nash.. Into the second half and a shot from Stephen Burgess was parried by Nash and Kye Theodore put away the rebound for a 3-1 lead. It was Athletic dominating play for the opening 25 minutes Ryan Evans was wide with two chances and efforts from Paul Taylor and James Lowton went close. Ashley Pearce hit the post for United before they took the lead in the 30th. Pearce was the scorer when his effort with the wind took a slight deflection. Lowton had a goal disallowed before United went two goals ahead. They had three corners in a row, taken by Hayden Chalker and from the third Josh Lowther managed to find the back of the net his header. Basingstoke Saturday League
Division One
Hook moved up to second sot in the table after a very closely fought game at Castle Fields against Bounty United who are still looking for their first league win of the season. Hook, who has lost just once, against Twentyten back in September, had a tough fight on their hands to win this game 1-0. Bounty had by far the better of play in the first half and only some fine saves from keeper Chris LeBron kept it at 0-0 until the 50th minute. Although James Neville had hit the post in the first half for Hook, Bounty also hit the woodwork in one of their many attacks. It was Neville with the lone goal when his header from a Dave White free kick gave keeper Richie Vinn no chance. Bounty hit the woodwork again and Alex Izzo had a great chance on the break and shot wide. All in all the verdict is, a lucky three points.
Division Two
Herriard Sports are back on top of the Division Two table after winning 3-1 against one of their challengers for the title. Winklebury Wizards were unbeaten in the league until this game, but fell behind in the eighth minute when Chris Dobbie took a through ball from Richard Ellis, he out muscled his man and finished well. Ben Haskin made it 2-0 with a 25 yard free kick and by the 34th they went 3-0 ahead. Dobbie with header from a Sam Weber corner kick. Wizards improved and Dave Purt in the Herriard goal had work to do keeping out good efforts from George Lagden and Josh Arthur. Scott Large had certain goal cleared off the line as they pressed. It was only in the 85th minute when they managed to score. It was a corner taken by Josh Arthur and scrambled into the net by George Langden.
Basingstoke Labour Club retained their unbeaten record after a 2-2 draw with Overton United B who are on level points with them in third spot, with both four points adrift of the leaders. Labour went in front in the 1st minute when a lofted ball over the top from Wayne Barlow led to Ewan Westwood heading it his own net. Overton came back to level in the 38th minute when Josh Smith combined with Scotty Winterbourne for
Kyle Buckland to slot home from eight yards out. Only a great tackle by Armand Ince stopped Labour scoring and Overton then lost Richie Budd injured and they went behind in the 65th when Josh Dickens went on a 40 yard run, brushing aside challenges from Liam Randall and Mike Burry before lobbing over keeper Gavin Alexander. Buckland soon equalised from a pass from Ince and apart from a brilliant save by Alexander when Mark West looked to have scored the winner with eight minutes left, it was stalemate with a draw a fair enough result. ..
The first win for Longdog Soldiers has still to come as they were beaten -1 by AFC Berg. A long ball from George Steele was chased by Kieran Alleyne who finished well. In the 5th it was 2-0 when Richard McCounbrie scored with a free kick. Longdog kept them out until theb59th minute when Carlos Gonzales netted. Berg had their keeper Kirrage sent off following a disagreement with the referee and it was in the last minute when they scored their only reply, Tyrone Payne scoring from a Louis Trodd assist.
