Division One

The Division One leaders Hook extended their lead at the top of Division One with a 13-0 win over bottom of the table Winklebury Wizards at home. They took the lead after just two minutes through Andy Parker and two minutes later Tom Davies converted a penalty and this was to be the first of the six he helped himself to by the end. By half time it was 8-0, goals from James Westwood, Lawrence Fannon and Parker completing his hat trick. Wizards had no answer to the onslaught, although Andy Barfoot did have a penalty well saved by keeper Gary Harper, who also pulled off a great save from a good effort from Dan Costen. Further Hook goals came from Dan Mauridian and Dan Mellors. Harry Goodyear, the Wizards manager said after this heavy defeat, we were out of our depth today, but we have to accept it and move on, but he will be anxious after learning they have been drawn against Hook in the second round of the Peter Raynbird Cup.

After their set back against AFC Aldermaston Reserves, second in the table Herriard Sports are back on track with a 4-1 home win over Bounty United at home. They took a second minute lead when a free kick taken by Chris Dobbie was parried by keeper Richard Vinn and Craig Lewington was on hand to put away the rebound. Sam Weber went on one of his dazzling runs past several defenders and made it 2-0 in the 15th minute. Bounty replied within three minutes when Mike Gilham headed home a cross from Jordon Willis.
In the 38th Herriard made it 3-1 when a cross from Dobbie was converted by Matt Goodman. Bounty held out until the 75th minute when Dobbie was brought down, a penalty was awarded and although Vinn did well to save his spot kick, Dobbie put away the rebound.

Twentyten took maximum points at Barlow’s Park against Tadley Calleva A, but both goalkeepers deserve much credit at keeping it goal less until the 60th minute. Dan Nocella, in the home pulled off a fine save from a Joe Osborne effort and later from a Lucas Pickett free kick. A the other end Harry Nash was in action, with a point blank save when Peter White was through also a very good free kick from Cameron Sweeney was well saved by him.. The deadlock was broken when Jordon Ingram was adjudged to have brought down Jack Arnold, a soft penalty felt the Tadley manager Bradley Nash, it was however put away by Joe Hill.. They then conceded another goal, scored by Ryan Lupton from a Hill cross and they should have conceded another when Charlie Manning had an open goal and failed to find the net. Tadley did come back with a goal in the 80th minute. Peter White the scorer after being set up by Jason Graham who was having his first game in 18 months and Nash is now hopeful he will be regular. Tadley will have a chance for revenge when they meet the same opponents at home in the second round od the Peter Raynbird Cup at the end of the month

The 5-1 defeat suffered by AFC Aldermaston Reserves is a big set back to their hopes this season after a good start. It was a tight first half, but Overton took the lead after 25 minutes through Nino Franco, a long cross that ended up in the net. Reece Barrett equalised by the break, but two minutes into the second half Ben Pearce went on a solo run to regain the lead. In the 78th Overton extended their lead when Richard Budd took a pass from Franco and then Franco made it 4-1 with 35 yard shot that lobbed over the keeper. The fifth came two minutes from time when Andy Barfoot put Syrani Thomas through and he put away the chance.

Peter Raynbird Cup First Round

It was the first round of the Peter Raynbird Cup being played, involving the Division Two clubs and AFC Berg keep winning, this week they defeating AFC Aldermaston A 7-0, making it 24 goals in their four matches, with just four against. Peter Lomax opened the scoring for them in the seventh minute, a header from a corner kick. This was followed with the first of his three for Ashley Elward. A 60 yard lob from Harry Rudge made it 3-0 and then the fourth came from Kieran Allayne. Elward completing his hat trick and substitute Dean Bridges added another.. Despite having Reece Chapman sent off for two bookings, Berg held their big lead. Berg may find their Round Two opponents Division One Herriard Sports a more difficult prospect.

It was a close game at Preston Candover that ended 2-1 in favour of Twentyten Reserves against Origin Headley. Adam Sawko after 25 minutes, but a minute from half time Dan Hancock was brought down and from a free kick Bradley Hawkins equalised. It was in the 60th when Twentyten scored the decider. It was a worthy winner to, for the 20 yard volley from Dan Hancock proved much too good for stand in keeper Jamie Foot, who took over from regular Doug Gray who had to go off injured.

Somesay proved too good for Longdog Soldiers, beating them 5-1. Hayden Chalker gave them a tenth minute lead and it was followed by a fine 20 yard strike from Connor Stratton, who then bent in a cross for Luke Gore to make it 3-0..In the 60th Stratton scored his second and then had a hand in the next, headed home by Callum Greenly. Longdog did have their chances, with Mike Anigbo hitting the bar and Sam Trodd, the post, before Trodd managed their late reply. It was a well constructed goal, starting with a throw in from Chris Andrews to Terry Dingley, on to Jake Pratchett and his fine headed pass for Trodd to finish off.

Chineham have lost their last three matches, but came good when back to full strength against Basingstoke Athletic, going through after a 4-2 win. Paddy Callaghan opened their account in the second minute following an assist from Davidson Andrade. A free kick from Terry Collingridge was met with great volley from Tom Rogers and they were two goals up and in the 29th Johnny Smith send Callahan through on a run and a top corner finish added another. Lewis Crawford pulled a goal back for Athletic but by the break Chineham scored again, this time Fin Thompson after taking a pass from Ricky Smith. A quick goal soon after the break scored by Nathan Read woke up Athletic, who had a much better 45 minutes, but Chineham withheld the pressure with Kevin Ridyard playing well in the heart of their defence.
