Wheatley Youth FC and Thame United Churches FC progressed in the OFA Junior Shield this week, with St. Ebbes (Headington) FC meeting Oxford Brookes Uni FC in the league.

After a late pitch inspection Wheatley Youth FC played host to Chesterton FC in the OFA Junior Shield. Wheatley were against the wind in the first half but had the better of the play, after missing a couple of early chances Jacob Joseph picked the ball just inside the Chesterton half, driving forwards to the edge of the 18 yard line he fed the ball inside the left back for Dean Flanagan to open the scoring for Wheatley. Despite hitting the bar twice with long range efforts Chesterton could not get an equaliser before the break. The second half was one way traffic now that Wheatley had the wind behind them, early substitutions added some fresh legs and Jake Hadfield notched Wheatley's second. It could have been more but the Chesterton keeper made some great saves and Wheatley also hit the post, but, the 2-0 scoreline saw them safely into round three and set up a home tie against Benson Lions.
Benson Lions play Wheatley after they knocked out Masons Arms with a 2-1 away win. In a"end to end" game it was the RAF team that went 1-0 up with an "unstoppable" volley, but, Masons levelled before the break with an equally "unstoppable" 30 yard strike from Jamie Long. The second half was just like the first, although it was Benson Lions who managed to break the deadlock and progress to the next round. Thame Churches played host to their OCFA counterparts Fairview at a blustery Horspath Road, Thame coming out on top with a 2-1 win to set up a 3rd round tie against Minster Lovell.
In the League St. Ebbes (Headington) FC hosted Oxford Brookes in the battle of the Brookes students, with St. Ebbes taking the three points with a 6-3 victory. Josh Horn and Stuart Rainey both got a brace with Jacob Grimes and Andrew McGregor wrapping up the scoring for St. Ebbes. Wil Slater, Ollie Garner and Ian Parker replied for Oxford Brookes.
