LIVERPOOL COUNTY PREMIER LEAGUE 1 CHESHIRE LEAGUE 0 (Aggregate score 1-2)

Liverpool didn’t quite manage to overturn the two goal deficit in last night’s 2nd Leg at Walton Hall Avenue but it wasn’t for the want of trying.

Joey Roberts, James Croxton and Liam Huson made a welcome return to the team and a tremendous first-half performance was rewarded with a goal from Anthony Lyons.

Liverpool continued to dominate in the second-half and created a host of chances. The finishing touch was missing, however, and Cheshire squeezed narrowly into the final.

Both teams are to be congratulated not only for the high standard of play over the two legs but also for the manner in which they conducted themselves.

Special thanks go to the players who represented the League over the two-legs and also to Stuart Daly and John Davies for all their efforts on the team’s behalf.
