Ambleside win in table topping clash to go 3 points clear at top of PREMIER LEAGUE as weather sees several games called off.
Ambleside now sit 3 points clear at the top of ANCHOR INN HARTSHILL PREMIER LEAGUE after beating Witherley United 3-2.
Goals from Matt Hart, Brady Middleton and a Liam Stringer free kick put Ambleside 3-0 up. Adam Woods and Alex Taylorson pegged it back to 3-2 in the last 15 minutes but Ambleside were able to see the game out to go top.
Sam Blower, Yankuba Rumpuwarch and Liam O’Rourke scored the goals that secured a 3-1 win for Burbage and Huncote over Griff and Coton Manor in TRIPLE R PAINTWORX LTD LEAGUE ONE.Jake Perry scored for Griff.
Newdigate United are starting to pull away at the top of MARK BLAIR FINANCE LEAGUE TWO as James Lloyd scored a hat trick in a 6-3 win over White Horse Atherstone. Cole Burchell and a brace from Kai Smith scored the other goals. The win keeps Newdigate unbeaten as we approach the half way point of the season. Daniel Riley, Ryan Porter and Kyle Crawford scored the Atherstone sides goals.
Conny United were on hand to capitalise on White Horse dropping points as they managed to beat Sean Dive 5-3 thanks to Jay Boorman’s brace and goals from Ben Adams, Malik Boyce and Luke Childs. The win sees them remain 4th but only on goal difference.
Swan Dive were handed a boost as Sam Fenwick returned from a long standing injury and made his presence felt with a thunderbolt of a strike (see video). Nath McInnes and Sanger Poori scored the other Swan goals.
Ambleside Reserves were able to exact revenge on Red Lion Barwell as they came out 4-3 winners in a game where the second half was very much end to end. Goals from Luke Wilkins, Owen Courtman, Lee Wilkins and Dan Rose saw Ambleside leap frog Red Lion in the standing. Danny Winterbotham scored 2 and Luke Newton the other for the Barwell side but Ambleside were able to see it out and take the 3 points.
Grendon are now 8 points clear at the top of NUNEATON TROPHIES LEAGUE THREE as the beat The Wharf Inn 3-0. Grendon goals from Dave Boal, Dan Douglas and John Russell saw them extend their 100% winning run to 10 games

A helping hand for Grendon was 2nd place Chetwynd Chess being held to a 4-4 draw with Hearty Goodfellow Reserves. Reece Grant, Ayo Adeleke, Jordan Bates and a goal on debut for Adrian Talbot with the Hearty goals. Jack Norman, Sam Bircher, Daniel Reidy and Andrew Walden were on hand to make sure Chetwynd left with a point.
60 year old veteran striker Doug Philpot was on the scoresheet for Lord Nelson as they managed to pick up a 5-2 win over Griff and Coton Manor Reserves in RICHARD DUNN LEAGUE FOUR. Bryn Cove scored a hat trick and Aidan Sanders the other for Nelson. Daniel Parker and Chay Tirabasso replied for Griff and Coton.
FC Burbage beat Ex-Servicemen Bedworth Reserves 5-0 thanks to 2 goals a piece for Jacob Wright and Matt Snow. Harry Johnson scored the other to keep the Burbage side 5th.
In County Cup action, Wykin Social took another step towards defending their LEICESTERSHIRE FA PREMIER TROPHY crown with a 3-1 win over Marlborough Rovers. Jes Adcock, Jake Brown and Courtney Lashley with the goals.
In the INTERMEDIATE TROPHY, Ashby Road Sports fell to a 3-1 defeat at the hands of Oadby Owls. Jake Hughes scored the Ashby Road goal.
SS Bulls Head would battle out a 4-4 draw with Sileby Athletic Reserves as goals from Ryan Brightwell, Kyle Olner, Jarrod Stone and Adrian Tapp meant the tie would be decided on penalties.
Unfortunately the Sapcote side lost the shootout 5-4 to exit the competition.

STORM BERT out in his full force, all games but one were out to the sword. The only game to go ahead this morning was on the 3G pitch at The Nuneaton Academy
