Stapenhill almost champions but runners-up could go to the wire.

3 points from their next fixture, home against Blaby and Whetstone on Saturday, should see Stapenhill with 1 hand on the championship cup after they were victorious this afternoon, and their nearest challengers had mixed fortunes. A Phil Whieldon 2nd half double gave the Stags their 1st home win since the beginning of February, 2-0 over Downes Sports.

Barrow Town moved into 2nd spot after grabbing all 3 points at Anstey Nomads with a last gasp winner. Lloyd Murning seemed to have given the Nomads a share of the points with a brace, but 2 from Adam Geary cancelled that out as Barrow made it 3 wins on the spin, to remain 15 points off the pace with a game in hand.

Ibstock Utd had to settle for a goal less draw at Bardon Hill Sports whilst Thurnby Rangers, who still have the potential to grab the runners up prize despite their 4th defeat on the spin, lost 1-2 to Blaby Whetstone Athletic.

Kirby Muxloe consolidated a top 6 finish with a 1-2 away win at Thurmaston Town and Holwell Sports made 6th spot a real possibility with their 5th win on the spin, 0-1 at Ratby Sports.

Aylestone Park eased another point away from the relegation trap door after a 1-1 with Ellistown.
