Poulton Vic's Jason Bull returned to haunt his old club Heswall with a smart double as Vics progressed to the second round of the Wirral DFA Senior cup following a 4-0 result at Gayton Park. Further efforts from Ben Kearney and Joel Cotgrave completed the scoreline as the MSC Express West Cheshire League Division Two leaders accounted for their Division One counterparts, WRITES ERNIE MCDONALD.
Ben Summers bagged both goals for Ellesmere Port Town but it was local rivals Capenhurst Villa who went through, Jamie Easton (2) James Davies and Steve Rowlands netting to seal a 4-2 win. Ryan Maxwell and Neil Stephens scored for Division Three minnows, Groves against Division One leaders, Mersey Royal, who edged a 3-2 decision thanks to replies from Dillon Thomas, Jack Davies and Liam Driscoll while Vauxhall Motors Res. breezed to a 5-0 victory over Neston Nomads with goals from Joe Ford(2)Connor Courtnell, Will McFerran and Graham Mort.
Despite a goal from Harrison Hindley, West Kirby paid the price against Higher Bebington Kelma, Ben Kierman's double securing a 2-1 result.
A depleted Mallaby gave an excellent account of themselves against Division One title aspirants, Newton, and had two goal Fenton Cavanagh on target before the visitors emerged 4-2 winners courtesy of efforts from Jackson Ellis(2) Sean Harrison and John Paul Kissock. Poulton Royal progressed after Anthony Evans plundered the game's only goal against Shaftesbury YC.
In the Wirral DFA Amateur Cup first round, it was celebration time for West Kirby Res., who maintained their fine run of form, Owen Hollywood's hat trick anchoring his side to a 5-0 rout of Ellesmere Port Town Res. Joe Stepenson and Tom Davies were the other marksman while a solitary strike from Danny Cross was enough for Hooton to eliminate, Poulton Vics Res.
Liverpool CFA Challenge Cup preliminary round action saw a thirteen goal thriller between South Liverpool Res. and Frames with South emerging 8-5 victors, highlighted by hat tricks from Adam Shelton and Bobby Murphy. Yusuf Moshin and Jahquesai were also on the mark.
Connor Rankin was another three goal star who shone for Maghull against AFC Knowsley, further goals from Jay Hooper(2),Robbie McDonald and Marcus Stewart completing a 7-4 triumph.
Marshalls put paid to Marine U23's 3-0, with Steve Calvey, Jacob Till and Louis Jarvis sharing the goals, while Niall McEnery obliged for South Sefton Borough in their single goal victory at FC Marsden The Ark.
An Andrew Dickson penalty failed to prevent Cheshire Lines from falling victim to replies from Rainhill Town's Jamie Casson and Dave Kelly while efforts from Connor Smith, Cam Grant and Joao Gomez inspired Bootle Res. to a 3-1 win at Warbreck.

Efforts from Kian Hamm(2) Dylan Owen and an own goal were just the ticket as third placed challengers, Poulton Vics overcame Victoria Colts 4-1 . The visitors replied via Ben Ryan.
BRNESC's 2-0 verdict over Ormskirk West End featured singles from Jack Todd and Sonny Brown while Mike Martin (2) Zach Comer, Luke Smith and Jake Hill all made the scoresheet as Runcorn Linnets won 5-2 against Vauxhall Motors. A Simon Cubbin effort and an own goal made up the Motormen's contribution.
