Women's League Cup Final
Kendal Town Ladies won their first senior trophy following a comprehensive victory against Crown Newlaithes FC in the Cumbria Womens League Cup. Penrith AFC was the venue for the final on Wednesday 11 May 2011.
Kendal Town Ladies FC lined up for their first Cup Final against Crown Newlaithes FC, this seasons runners up in the Cumbria Womens League. With a mid table finish, Kendal Town were looking to avenge their league defeats to Crown this season.
Following the Respect handshake, Kendal Town kicked off and were dominant in the early stages playing some neat football. The breakthrough came in the 24th minute, a shot from Brooke Kenny came back off the post and Vanessa Temple put the ball in the net. Kendal Town continued to attack and Temple made it 2-0 before half time.
The second half saw Kendal Town continue to dominate, further goals came from Joanne Thompson (2), captain Lauren Downham and Brooke Kenny with Nicola Martindale completing the scoring to make the final score 7-0.
