FA YOUTH CUP – Preliminary Round

With the League not scheduled to start until 16th September, for 3 of our teams, their season started this week with FA Youth Cup fixtures

Harborough Town travelled to take on Holbeach United where they suffered a heavy defeat going out of the Competition, 8-0.

Gresley Rovers had a home tie against former League team, Heather St Johns’, and they too went out of the Competition with a 2-1 defeat with their goal coming from an own goal.

Kirby Muxloe travelled to take on Long Eaton United and were taken all the way before winning the tie, 5-4, on a penalty shoot out. At full time the score was 1-1 and it remained the same after extra time.

1st Round Qualifying ties involving League sides are as follows

Leicester Nirvana v Heather St Johns
Loughborough Dynamo v Aylestone Park
Basford United v Lutterworth Athletic
Kirby Muxloe v Matlock Town

The above ties are scheduled to be played week commencing Monday 21st September
