A round-up of the action from Week 5 of the SERIE 6-A-Side League

The final week of the SERIE C seeding period of NTU's 6-a-side leagues featured four games that all had promotion and relegation connotations for the teams involved.

In SERIE C1, Cease Hiders had already seen themselves confirmed as playing in SERIE B following defeat in their final game in Week 4. All four of the remaining teams went into Week 5 though with the chance of playing in SERIE A. Scoregasm Japan and 2 Goals 1 Cup met in the 16.40 kickoff, with both teams knowing that only a win would leave them with any chance of gaining a top flight place. At the end of the game it was Scoregasm who secured the vital three points with a 3-0 win, leaving them to wait nervously on the nights other results, and 2 Goals 1 Cup joining Cease Hiders in SERIE B. Destiny and Egypt FC came into the 17.20 kick off in C1 knowing that a draw would be enough to secure their top flight place. In the end that was the result that transpired, but certainly not through any lack of want to win from either side, with the final score finishing 3-3.

With Ajax Trees Down already confirmed as a SERIE A team despite not having a game this week, Trent Architects and Defenders Assemble both went into their games knowing that just a point would secure their place in SERIE A. Trent Architects faced a Peverell Plebs already confirmed as a SERIE B team in the 16.40 match, but came unstuck as Peverell picked up their first win of the season witha 3-1 scoreline. This result meant that Scoregasm Japan from C1 were guaranteed a SERIE A place, and only a heavy loss by Defenders Assemble against Titus Bramble's Frisky Fingers would save the Architects from SERIE B. In the end this didn't happen, as Defenders Assemble ran out comfortable 3-0 winners, to move to the top of the C2 table and claim the last SERIE A spot.

Week 6's games sees the start of the 'competitive' SERIE A & B leagues. In SERIE A C1 winners (and the only undefeated team left in the league) Destiny face Ajax Trees Down at 16.40, whilst top seeds Defenders Assemble meet Scoregasm Japan at 17.20. SERIE B sees the renewal of old rivalries as Trent Architects face Titus Brambles Frisky Fingers meet each other at 16.40, just as they did in Week 1 of the season, whilst Cease Hiders face 2 Goals 1 Cup for the second time in two games at 17.20.
