Leicestershire & Rutland County FA are on the look out for new blind and partially sighted adilts and juniors who would like to play football
To celebrate the London 2012 Paralympic Games, the East Midlands Blind Football Team, based in Leicestershire is holding football taster sessions for youngsters and adults who fall into the group of players who are blind, partially sighted or have very low vision.
The Blind and Partially Sighted Football Taster sessions will take place in the sports hall at:
Judgemeadow Community College, Marydene Drive, Evington, Leicester LE5 6HP
Saturdays 1st and 8th September - 10.00 am 12 Noon
Sundays 16th and 23rd September - 11.00 am 1.00 pm
We are currently recruiting players for our Youth section 10-16 years of age and our Adults section 16years of age plus. Players can be experienced in football or new to the game.
Leicestershire is the base for the FA East Midlands Centre of Excellence for Blind Football and is committed to developing this area of the game. We are keen to continue to work with schools, colleges, universities and disability organisations to help us to identify and recruit players, not only locally, but across Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire, Lincolnshire and Northamptonshire.
The Paralympic Games will include 2 football events, 5 a side Blind Football and 7 a side Football for players with Cerebral Palsy.
