Following several requests for the Committee to review player eligibility for the League Cup Semi Final and Final, the following changes will be made for this season only in light of the number of Walkovers that have happened, and to ensure fairness for all teams left in the competition.
The current league rules state:
No player shall be eligible to play for the Semi-Final tie of any Cup Competition unless she has taken part in a Round prior to the Semi-Final tie.
Without the special written authority of the Management Committee, or League Cup Committee, no player shall be allowed to play in the Final tie unless she was eligible for the Semi-Final.
For this season (2009/10) only the League Management Committee will amend these sections as follows:
No player shall be eligible to play for the Semi-Final tie of any Cup Competition unless she has taken part in a Round prior to the Semi-Final tie, or if she has played (including as a substitute) in 4 league matches for the Club, in the current season prior to the Semi-Final tie.
Without the special written authority of the Management Committee, or League Cup Committee, no player shall be allowed to play in the Final tie unless she was eligible for the Semi-Final.
This change has been communicated to all Semi-Finalists and will be monitored by the Fixtures Secretary.
