What is the Target Tuition Centre?

There are 2 Target Tuition Centres situated in Clayton-Le-Moors, Clitheroe.

Each centre is an independently owned private tuition centre specialising in providing professional, high quality tuition in literacy and numeracy for children between the ages of 6 and 16 - those who need extra help at school, as well as those who are already excelling.

We also offer 11+ entrance exam preparation and specialist tuition for dyslexia.

All of our centres follow the 3-step process highlighted below :

Each child receives a FREE educational assessment.
An individual learning programme is prepared for each child.
Programmes are delivered by enthusiastic, qualified, CRB checked teachers through face-to-face tuition.
This is backed up by extensive resources, local knowledge and a proven track record to provide a positive learning environment.

With on-going and honest communication regarding each child's progress; Target Tuition’s aim is to have our students enjoy learning. We want them to discover a new confidence which they can take back into the classroom and into other areas of their lives.

We provide the resources, motivation and expert tuition… the child does the rest.

Accrington Centre

Carol Young is the owner of the Target Tuition Centre in Clayton-Le-Moors. She opened her tuition centre in September 1998, initially as a Kip McGrath Education Centre, and quickly established a reputation for providing high quality tuition within the Accrington area. With over 25 years teaching experience, and as a qualified dyslexia tutor, she has subsequently helped hundreds of children achieve their personal goals.

Carol and her team of qualified, experienced, CRB checked teachers provide tuition to improve skills in both numeracy and literacy, not just for children who are struggling at school but also for those who wish to excel. Entrance examination candidates are also catered for.

Clitheroe Centre

The Clitheroe centre opened in March 2011 to cater for children in the Ribble Valley.

We provide tuition to improve skills in both numeracy and literacy, not just for children who are struggling at school but also for those who wish to excel. The children enjoy learning using the combination of computer and written activities. Entrance examination candidates are also catered for, through weekly lessons, 11+ mock tests and a booster course over the summer holidays. We also help pupils prepare for SATs and GCSE examinations. The centre's owners, Carol Young and Valerie Cotton, have over 30 years teaching experience between them.

On 24th August 2011, we ceased operating as a KMEC franchise to become an independently owned centre, Target Tuition.
