A case of sweet and sour.

It was a case of sweet and sour for Blaby and Whetstone Athletic after they lifted the Senior Cup for the first time in their history after Nick Loach and Marc Asman scored a goal in half to post a 2-0 defeat of Anstey Town.

However, just up the road, a late equaliser gave Ibstock Utd a point in a 3-3 draw at Saffron Dynamo to go above Blaby in the league, on goal difference, to pinch the 8th and final place available for the new East Midlands Counties Football League, at step 6 of the non league system, next season.

Bardon Hill Sports finished their season in style with 2 wins on the spin, to edge past Saffron into 5th spot, with a 3-2 defeat of Rothley Imps and a 3-0 defeat of Ellistown.
